On Brian Head Welch Calling Chester Bennington a “Coward”

In my later years at my Catholic elementary school St. James, I was a huge fan of Korn and Limp Bizkit.  I remember getting into trouble for bringing some of their albums to school in my grade 8 classroom and performing in a duo “air band” performance to Limp Bizkit’s “Rearranged” with a guy who I had a crush on in my class.  I did tell a fellow classmate to make a noise into the mic when the word bullshit was sung, however he forgot… These two bands were my two go to bands when I needed music to vent some emotions and later that summer in the year 2000 I started hearing about a new band similar to Limp Bizkit but with a new style, Linkin Park.      I recall watching Much Music that summer and there was a short “on the street” bit in which young people were asked if they liked Limp Bizkit or Linkin Park better.  A very high percentage of them said “Linkin Park” and I remember feeling disappointed.  I was the kid who would have said "Limp Bizkit!" because I didn’t

A Spell for the Lonely Hermit

Source: http://www.learntarot.com/maj09.htm      As an introvert I’ve learned that occasionally we hit ruts in which we’ve become so much of hermits that we begin to experience strong difficulties which sidetrack us from life purposes.  It’s common in all introverts’ lives that a lack of much needed courage takes place from time to time and that life becomes depressing as we begin to feel worthless to the world.  This kind of thinking can be dangerous in certain mental states, thus I have created a spell which can magically boost our courage and guide us onto a path in which we begin to feel more purpose and happiness rather than the depressing feelings of worthlessness.  Most importantly a path of inspiration which will guide us into a productiveness which helps with work life, hobbies & relationships.           Light an orange candle somewhere you go in your      home in which  you enjoy spending time when alone.      Orange  candles are used for inspiration and

My Awful Childhood Video Game: Action 52 (1993) - Sega Genesis

Image
On one Winter Solstice season in my childhood home, my siblings and I were gifted with the classic gaming console Sega Genesis from our parents.  It was one of the most memorable consoles of our childhoods and we would remember the games we got for it for many years to come.  We received titles Sonic the Hedgehog 2 , Sonic & Knuckles , Spider-Man vs Venom and Action 52 !  You heard me right, Action 52 … the infamous 52-in-1 game cartridge which originally was effortlessly released on the Nintendo Entertainment System (NES), now was on the Sega Genesis.  However with a small amount more effort and mostly different titles.  When I wasn't pretending to be a vampire, trying to conjure up spirits or watching horror videos, this is the crap I sometimes played!      It all began the following summer after we received the Sega Genesis when my mother was watching the Home Shopping Channel on our television.  My mother saw the cartridge with 52 games at a relatively cheaper

Revisiting Marilyn Manson's Autobiography "The Long Hard Road Out of Hell" (1994)

I briefly attended a youth group at a Pentecostal church which once stood on 8th Street East of Saskatoon. During one of their youth events, the leadership team decided to make it all about Rock and Roll and how “the Devil” is controlling the music industry. They played some songs in reverse to scare some of the vulnerable teens who didn’t know any better.  They wanted the teens to buy into the so-called “Satanic messages” which the leadership team tried convincing were in some of the songs they may be listening to. Thus attempting to convince them that “back masking” was a tool of “the Devil”.      They ended the night by choosing a "boogeyman" in the industry, Marilyn Manson. They came up with all of these stories which they told us had been documented and were indeed factual. Stories like molesting a cow on stage and telling his fans to stomp puppies to death or else his concert wouldn’t begin. I bought into what they were saying. However as I grew older

The Little Vampire (1985) Review

Image
In my book “Becoming the Devil They Fear: A Gay Book of Shadows” I briefly mention that my older sister and I would run around in capes pretending to be vampires and scaring the crap out of my mother, making her think we might attempt to fly out our bedroom windows. Our favourite TV show at the time was “The Little Vampire”, a Canadian-German children's television series created by the German Polyphon Film- und Fernsehgesellschaft and Canadian Norflicks Productions Ltd. The series is based upon the similar books written by Angela Sommer-Bodenburg.      I attempted to watch the full series on YouTube recently, however some of the audio files did not match with the video. And it wasn’t just a second or two difference, it was far more than that which made the certain clips unwatchable. But I still wanted to watch the full series as my inner-child was so excited to watch it all again. I could only remember glimpses of the show prior to re-watching it, so I was in desperate
