Alapalooza (1993) "Weird Al" Yankovic Review

Image
The very first music album which my parents bought for me was Alapalooza by Weird Al Yankovic .  Around this time my family and I would sing along to song on the radio like If I Had a Million Dollars by the Barenaked Ladies , whom I do not care for today.  My copy of Alapalooza was a retro cassette tape copy and I had lots of fun listening to it on my double cassette recorder.      Alapalooza was released on October 5, 1993 in the United States. Globally, some versions included a notice distinguishing it from the official Jurassic Park film soundtrack, as the two cover designs were similar. The Japanese edition contained a bonus track of Yankovic singing "Jurassic Park" in Japanese. A music video compilation for the album, entitled Alapalooza: the Videos, was released in February 1994 and contained four videos, only two of which ("Jurassic Park" and "Bedrock Anthem") were from Alapalooza.      Alapalooza contains seven original songs a

True Ouija Encounter & Ouija Historian Robert Murch

I have decided to release another Ouija board blog entry with a couple of excerpts from my book Becoming the Devil They Fear: A Gay Book of Shadows.   I am also sharing some information on Ouija expert and historian Robert Murch.  My last Ouija blog entry did so well that it landed me an interview on Spaced Out Radio which turned out very well even though I was a bit nervous. 😉   Thanks for the wonderful opportunity Spaced Out Radio!  See the excerpts from my book below: Order here !      There were some strange occurrences which took place in our duplex…  One night my mind was racing due to the stress of not being able to find a job. I struggled to achieve independence and at times found it hard to acknowledge my self-worth.      I was facing the wall next to my bed and, due to my restlessness, I was moving around a lot.  I had moved my arm and placed my hand in a spot of my bed that felt strangely ice cold. I moved my hand to get comfortable and found it strange

Super Mario Bros. (1985) Review

All four of my grandparents were always very loving.  They have all passed to  the other side  which means all I have now are their spirits and  memories inside my heart .  One of the memories of my mother’s parents was all of the dinners they made for us as at times my family struggled to get by.  One of my most cherished memories of going to their home was playing their   Nintendo Entertainment System (NES)  which my grandmother noted that I played with the most out of all of her grandchildren.  Eventually I was the only one playing their NES, and my grandma had finally decided to let me take it home for keeps as the loving grandmother she always was.  The Game I played most was  Super Mario Bros 3 , however they also had the first  Super Mario Bros  and which I will be focusing on today.      Super Mario Bros. was bundled with the NES during its debut in my birth-year , 1985.  It has been noted as the best selling video game of all time and was a game that helped sell

The Exorcist (1973) Review

Image
I have always been a fan of horror, even as a child…  I often wrote horror stories for Creative Writing and at one point my Roman Catholic Elementary School teacher advised me to stop writing about the Occult .  My parents never minded on the other hand, as I’ve mentioned before my mother and I rented many horror films and even did the 7 movies, 7 days, for 7 dollars deal at our local rental store with all of the Nightmare on Elm Street films.  On my previous Ouija blog, I shared an excerpt from my book Becoming the Devil They Fear: A Gay Book of Shadows  which briefly mentioned the first time I watched the Exorcist which was around the same time in which I successfully used a Ouija board with my older sister…  Hence why my mother though I was so frightened around this time, whilst she had no idea that we had a Ouija board .   Evil spirits were very real to me because of my Ouija experience , so I really took The Exorcist to heart which resulted in me feeling scared in

POG Origins

As a child there were many different toys which I cherished.  My sister sometimes would let me play with her Gameboy which she got for her birthday, my parents gave me the extremely fun exploding Crash Test Dummy figurines and eventually the exploding Crash Test Car!  Not to mention all of the Batman and Ninja Turtle figurines which were purchased for me!  Of course my favorite was our Sega Genesis console until my grandmother gave me her original Nintendo Entertainment System because I was the only one who played it eventually.  But there was one other toy which was simply a fad, however my inner-child probably would love to play it again.  The Pog!   POGS! I even had the Official Pog Making Machine!     The game generally involves two types of playing discs, a pile of Pogs and slammers.  Pogs are flat circular cardboard discs which are decorated with images on one or both sides.  Slammers are heavier game pieces often made of metal, rubber, or more commonly plas
